A one-day workshop on Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules 2021 and Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 was led by Mr. Ajay Sinha, CEO, Feedback Foundation Charitable Trust (FFCT), Gurugram, on 7th December 2021 at PWD Rest House in Panchkula, Haryana. The workshop was organized by Municipal Corporation Panchkula, and the objective was to sensitize the councillors and officials of the Urban Local Body [ULB] for effective management of solid waste generated daily and improvement of Panchkula’s Swachh Survekshan ranking. The concepts covered as part of this workshop included understanding waste perspectives, SWM Rules 2016, Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules 2021, segregation of waste at source, waste reduction techniques, processing and treatment technologies, decentralized SWM options, circular economy and Swachh Survekshan 2022.

Chief Guest, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly addressed the participants and said that the Councillors and MC officials should learn how Indore and Bhopal, the cleanest Indian cities, have successfully managed to secure top positions in the Swachh Survekshan year after year, so that the same can be implemented in Panchkula, and ranking enhanced from the next year.
