Feedback Foundation is conducting a Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) Programme to make 22 villages in Keonjhar and Sundergarh mining districts of Odisha, Open Defecation Free (ODF). The project is supported by Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (OMC).

Sanitation and hygiene have been the key mandates of OMC’s CSR responsibility and this project has been initiated to help the communities in the villages. OMC is helping eradicate open defecation in those villages that are in and around the vicinity of its mines.

Under this project, the villages are being triggered and regular follow up are being done, results of the work are being observed. The villages of Keonjhar and Sundergarh are on the path of becoming ODF.

To mark the achievement, ODF celebration was conducted at Rantha village of Koira region on 18th January, 2020. Community members participated with great enthusiasm, they decorated the village with beautiful rangolis, a ‘Walk of pride’ was conducted and a sanitation oath was taken by everyone at the event. Various stakeholders present on the occasion addressed the community and congratulated them for their achievement.
