Urban Reforms

FF provides consultancy services to state urban development authorities, urban local bodies, water utilities and other implementation agencies for building capacities for better governance and service delivery for urban reforms.

FF intervenes in the slums to promote, hand hold and implement activities through collective and participatory approach. The activities include inter alia behavior change, solid waste change and livelihood generation.

FF realized that the alchemy in sanitation could bring in overall well-beingness of the community.

Slum Improvement

FF promotes integrated city development and to enable the people living in slums to gain access to basic services such as potable water, sanitation, health and educational facilities and also on the issue of skill and livelihood.

The issue of creating ODF slums is challenging and requires due deliberation of all concerned stakeholders. FF undertakes Citizen Led Total Sanitation towards achieving collective behavior change. The slum dwellers are triggered towards construction and usage of toilets through daily monitoring. The various technologies are discussed and are incorporated to mitigate issues of space crunch, necessary permissions towards toilet constructions. The key projects undertaken in urban slums are as follows:

Creating Open Defecation Free, Puri City through, Participatory, Holistic, Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) Approaches. The project was supported by Technical and Management Support Team (TMST), Odisha which resulted in creating 17 ODF slums beside the sea-shores.

FF formulated the City Sanitation Plan for Nanded Waghala City Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra, along with All India Institute of Local Self Governmentbased on participatory and inclusive approaches, in accordance with the GOI NUSP guidelines.

FF successfully accomplished Ward No 6 in Urban Sanitation in Gurgaon, Haryana along with InterGlobe Foundation. The team passionately worked on ODF slum and other demand based interventions.

FF Partnering With Inter Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd (IGH) for Implementing CSR ActivitiesInter Globe Hotels. The project involved community interventions leading to observable, measurable and sustainable improvements in the overall quality of life of communities residing in areas located within a 10 km radius of Aerocity in the vicinity of New Delhi international airport, where a new Ibis hotel is being constructed. To begin with, the interventions are targeted at two communities residing in the urban areas of: (1) Rangpuri Pahadi, and (2) Masudpur, in the Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi.

FF has been a support for Community Development, Rights Awareness, Hygiene Education and Promotion of Improved Sanitation in Slums of Bhopal along with Madhya Pradesh Urban Services for the Poor (MPUSP).
