The residents of Dalit Ekta Camp and JJ Bandhu Camp, situated in Vasant Kunj, celebrated their ODF achievements with great fervour on 21st December 2017. FF with the support of CIIF is working in these camps in their endeavour to make the 2 slums Open Defecation Free+ (ODF+) and improve the living conditions of the people of these slums. Both these slums have become ODF and decentralized Solid Waste Management has been implemented. Self Help Grou ps (SHGs) have been formed and strengthened. Bank Accounts opened and O&M for Community toilets have been established. To celebrate this achievement residents gathered in huge numbers, decorated their camps with beautiful rangolis, participated in sports activities and cultural activities with great enthusiasm. Everyone was in festive mood with a sense of pride. The guests included representatives from CIIF, SDMC, DUSIB, FFCT team and residents. Walk of Pride was also conducted in both the camps. The RWA leader shared the journey of moving from OD to ODF and finally getting ODF certification from SDMC. Mr. K. Jawahar from CIIF congratulated the residents and prizes were distributed to the sports’ winners. The programme ended with planting of saplings and vote of thanks by Mr. Jyoti Prakash, COO, FF.
