When Feedback Foundation (FF) started working in the village in pursuit of making Bhond – A Model Village, in Nuh District of Haryana, its middle school was found to be in a bad shape. Absenteeism and dropout rates were high, especially, among girls in the village. The task of breaking gender disparity by creating a conducive environment for the girls to study, curbing drop-out and preventing them from other discriminations was a tall order for FF team. However, over a period of 4 years, concerted efforts by FF, School Management Committee (SMC) and the Head Master of the school as well, finally paid off. The school is now on top of the district map of education with 100% success rate in the school final exams for class 8. 23 children passed out, with 13 girls and 10 boys securing admission in higher secondary school in Firozpur Jirka.
This is just the beginning of the journey towards realizing the dreams and aspirations of children of Bhond so that they can create a better future for themselves and their families.
