An exemplary Model Polling Station that operated on the fundamental principles of Zero Waste and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) was established in Prestige School in Ward 29 of Zone 7 of Indore. This distinctive polling station not only encouraged civic participation but also advocated for sustainable and responsible practices. The Adarsh Matdan Kendra had implemented the innovative ‘Waste to Best’ concept with efficient waste management models. A key feature of this polling station was its steadfast commitment to the 3R principles, emphasizing the reduction of waste, the promotion of reuse, and active participation in recycling to divert items from landfills.
The Adarsh Matdan Kendra had taken a bold stance against the use of plastic and disposables, actively raising awareness about their harmful environmental impacts through campaigns and educational initiatives. This had led to a conscientious effort by voters to refrain from using plastic and disposables during their visits to the centre. By seamlessly integrating these eco-friendly practices, the Adarsh Matdan Kendra not only elevated the voting experience but also served as a positive role model for other institutions and communities.
Feedback Foundation has been empaneled by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) as an agency for creating awareness for Solid Waste Management since August 2019, and has been conducting awareness and IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) campaigns for the mass mobilization of all waste generators. Capacity-building workshops and SBM thematic drives are also being organized.
