Feedback Foundation is providing mass mobilization support for Covid 19 preparedness and technical and supportive supervision support to the Puri Municipality in management of solid waste aligned with SWM Rules 16 and its associated Rules. Under this intervention, door to door sensitization and mass mobilization are being conducted for sensitization of stakeholders and behavior change of the community for segregation of waste at source. Other activities include training and capacity building of waste generators, development and training of collection, transportation, processing and treatment [CTPT] team, Information, Education and Communication [IEC] for source segregation and waste reduction initiatives, clearance of dumping and garbage vulnerable points across the city. Polythene ban has been imposed and city-wide raids are being conducted and fine imposed on defaulters. Monitoring of ODF sustenance and clean-up drives are also being conducted. Trainings are being conducted for staff of Puri Municipality and Sanitation team to improve Puri’s ranking in Swachh Survekshan 2020-21. 6 Micro-Composting Centres (MCC) and 2 Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) have been constructed to meet the SWM requirement of Puri and FF team is providing technical support towards proper functioning of these facilities.
