Waste collection in narrow lanes poses a persistent challenge for smaller Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) like Sribhumi Municipal Board in Assam. Limited vehicle accessibility to doorsteps and tight budgets for procuring collection vehicles often leave households underserved. Feedback Foundation is proving this notion wrong through innovative, low-cost solutions. In partnership with Sribhumi Municipality, we’re deploying retrofitted tricycles that navigate even the narrowest lanes, ensuring waste collection from every single household. Each tricycle is equipped with four dedicated bins for source-segregated waste (wet, dry, plastic, and sanitary) and boasts a 150 KG capacity. A single trip covers 70-80 households, making inclusive waste management a reality—no one’s waste left behind! This model promotes sustainability, empowers communities, and sets a scalable example for ULBs nationwide.
