Shimla, March 24–25, 2026: Feedback Foundationsuccessfully conducted a 2-Day Training and Capacity Building Programme at Hotel Woodsville Palace, bringing together key urban stakeholders to strengthen solid waste management (SWM) systems across Himachal Pradesh. The programme was supported through CSR funding from Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and Dasra. It witnessed active participation from over 60 decision-makers representing eight ULBs: Municipal Corporation Shimla, Municipal Council Theog, Municipal Council Nadaun, Municipal Council Paonta Sahib, Municipal Council Manali, Nagar Panchayat Arki, Nagar Panchayat Narkanda, and Nagar Panchayat Suni.
The training focused on enhancing both technical and managerial capacities in SWM, with a strong emphasis on data-driven, ULB-specific action planning. Participants engaged in practical sessions designed to translate learning into actionable strategies tailored to their local contexts.Key outcomes were strengthened institutional coordination between state and ULB levels, enabling smoother implementation of SWM initiatives, and the development of a replicable capacity-building model that integrates structured training with ongoing technical handholding support. The initiative has been strategically positioned for scalability across other ULBs in Himachal Pradesh and similar geographies.
The programme was attended by senior officials including the Director, Directorate of Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh, representatives from HUL and Dasra, SBM State Cell officers, and delegates from the participating ULBs.
FFCT’s approach as a Support Key Partner (SKP) for training delivery was widely appreciated. Building on this success, a series of similar one-day training sessions are planned for April 2026, complemented by continued technical handholding support from domain experts and field teams.
